The American Indian Cultural Center’s 2025 Gathering of Native Americans (GONA) was a powerful two-day youth-centered event that brought together Native youth, families, and the wider community to celebrate culture, wellness, and connection. At the heart of the gathering was a basketball tournament, where young athletes came together in the spirit of teamwork and friendly competition. The event also featured live music from a DJ, creating an uplifting and energetic atmosphere that kept the community engaged and connected.

Adding to the excitement, actors Kauchani Bratt and Kusem Goodwind from the hit film Rez Ball joined the event, playing alongside youth and participating in a special panel discussion about representation, storytelling, and Native empowerment. Throughout the weekend, participants came together for a prayer circle, smudging ceremonies, and spiritual teachings, honoring traditions while inspiring the next generation. The 2025 GONA fostered healing, unity, and pride — embodying AICC’s mission to create spaces where culture, community, and youth leadership thrive.
