Honoring and Remembering Our Relatives:
AICC SF’s Commitment to MMIW/MMIP Justice
The American Indian Cultural Center (AICC) stands in solidarity with the movement to end the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit, and Relatives (MMIW/MMIP). This crisis continues to impact Indigenous communities across the U.S., including right here in the Bay Area. Through community action, cultural expression, and deep-rooted advocacy, AICC is proud to support and uplift this vital cause in everything we do.
Our Ongoing Contributions
to MMIW/MMIP
Artistic Collaborations for Awareness
In collaboration with Indigenous artists, AICC helped bring a powerful MMIW/MMIP visual installation to the San Francisco Symphony, honoring the lives of victims from the Bay Area, California, and across Turtle Island. This impactful showcase created space for reflection, education, and visibility in one of the city’s most prominent cultural institutions.
We continue to work with artists—whether through murals, fashion shows, art installations, or community performances—to ensure that MMIW/MMIP remains visible, centered, and never forgotten.
